Umbra is evil, they say. We should do away with her. Why should an evil deity get offerings?

But who are we to decide what is good, and what is evil? Should such judgments not be left up to the Goddesses? If Kore saw fit not to kill her own sister, how can we mortals presume to decide if Umbra is worthy of worship or not?

Furthermore, how can we say we understand the nature of good — if we know not the nature of its opposite?

I am not saying Umbra is evil, but IF she is, then surely we need her…surely Kore needs her sister.

The more I study of Umbra, the more I see her as misunderstood. A goddess of darkness and lunacy, yes—but are these things evil? The ruler of Tyvian — but would any other Goddess take on that role? Someone must guard the wicked, lest their shades break free and wreak havoc upon the earth.

I do not like the current trend in the Order, of pretending Umbra does not exist, of wishing her away. She has not been propitiated for some time. Too long.

Someone must right that wrong. Even if it costs me my position, I will offer to the Dark One this sevenday.

We cannot ignore her just because we fear her.
