Io Fortuna, we have a title!
Hey there Wild Circle!
I am happy to announce we HAVE A WINNER! Both an actual winner of the giveaway I hosted last month, and a winner of a title for the prequel to Elemental Chemistry.
Congratulations to Rhonda B. on winning the contest! Enjoy your prize. <3
Thank you so much to everyone who participated — it really helped me out. I get analysis paralysis sometimes when it comes to choosing titles or character names, so throwing the decision in Fortuna’s hands by giving y’all a poll is what I have to do. And time and again, y’all deliver.
And the winning title is….
Fate’s Promise
I also have created a cover for it and a blurb. The blurb is a WIP so it may change between now and release, but I’m pretty sure the cover is final. Unless y’all hate it, in which case let me know so I can fix it.
Somehow.

On the edge of the Aradian Empire, Irkalla Station buzzes with political intrigue and forbidden desire. Sabina Khar’sheli, devoted priestess of the goddess Norcia, arrives on a divine mission: to aid Draivarya S’madhara, a charismatic politician from the desperate planet Chaya II.
For Sabina, fulfilling her goddess’ will is paramount. For Draivarya, winning Sabina’s heart—and her bed—is an irresistible challenge. As their worlds collide, so do their hearts, igniting a passion that threatens to consume them both.
The stakes are high. The Aradian Empire, a matriarchal neo-theocracy, and Chaya II, a democracy on the brink of extinction, must forge an alliance or face annihilation. As political tensions rise and desires deepen, Sabina and Draivarya must navigate the treacherous waters of duty and devotion, risking everything for a chance at love.
Can they bridge the gap between their worlds and save their peoples? Or will their fiery passion bring them to ruin?
In other writing news
I finished Nebula’s Heart! First draft was done on June 30th and then I did the epilogue in July.
Pure drafting has taken a backseat now to working on the Chosen of Kore text update and revisions on other books. Chosen of Kore should start releasing soon.
I am currently on chapter 50. Only 234 to go! nervous laughter
But I’m feeling good about my writing. My goal this year is to finish 6 first drafts, and I’m halfway there. I also set out for the first half of the year to be focused on pure drafting, and to shift focus to editing, revisions, and publishing in the second half, and that’s also happening. I’ll still be drafting in the second half of the year, but it will be in addition to the other things.
I’m hopeful Fate’s Promise will be released within the next month. At the very least, before the end of August.
I honestly can’t believe the year is half over already. I’ve accomplished a lot but it never seems to be enough. Truthfully I think I’ve been in survival mode since April last year, when we got the first eviction notice from our landlords. That fight was LONG and we only left the suite in January, and the past few months have been me…recuperating, basically.
Maybe I’m pulling out of it now. I hope I am. I’d like to get some energy and focus back and actually be able to accomplish things. All the things, not just the fun ones. It’s easy for me to write a bunch because I LOVE writing. All the fiddly admin stuff? Real life adulting stuff? Taxes? (UGH). So much harder to accomplish.
Anyway. I’m going to go and try to accomplish some things that are hard to do. And maybe I’ll nap, too, because holy crap am I tired today.
wildly,
Katje
